Broad Brook Dairy was the ice cream staple of Preston for decades.  I remember going here in the late 80's/early 90's.  It closed for a time in the mid 90's and reopened for a couple years before shuttering for good in 1999.  During its last couple of years, it was only open sporadically and most of the front windows had been broken and covered with boards, so it wasn't obvious that it was open most of the time.

When Zack and I visited on April 30, 2006, we were absolutely shocked at the condition of the place since buildings just don't decay like this in only six years.  Keep in mind that any visits to this place while it was open were only to the front of the building where the stools and benches were.  The rest of this establishment was quite large, square-footage wise.

Sadly, Broad Brook Dairy was torn down from August 2008-November 2009.

In April of 2009, when demolition was underway, the milk trucks stored in the back of the building were put on display for about a month or so, which was nice to see.  There's a bunch of photos of my 1984 Saab 900 as well because my blog at the time had "obligatory Saab shots", which I still do, but with a different Saab. So here, bask in the glory of all that is my old classic Saab 900, which are the best Saabs.
