Hell's Gates

Hell's Gates is now a part of Tillinghast Pond Management Area with a lot of wonderful trails to explore. I actually can't recommend the new version of this place enough, which has several locations where you can access the trails, one of which off of Plain Meetinghouse Road with a parking area, and the other off of Plains Road, where there is another parking area and a bathroom facility.
The pictures from 2006 were from before this was turned into nature trails. It's all gone, but the best parts remain.
I will have pictures from more recent hikes to post here soon!
NOTE: I realize this page used to host a rant about contacting me about Hell's Gates. Obviously with the demolition of this location and now being a public space, it hasn't been so much of a problem in recent years. However someone was psycho enough to actually call me to berate me about my own opinion and threatened to "blow my site up" well go right ahead. Blow the site up with visits and make it go viral.
You know what I would appreciate more? If you would make a visit to The Nature Conservancy and make a donation so the wonderful work they have been doing to make Hell's Gates enjoyable for all can continue. You can also find trail maps through that website and better directions than I could ever give.
