Ever since I was a young girl, I wondered about the large lighted cross on the hill on I-84 overlooking Waterbury CT. I wasn't from that part of the state so I had no idea that the cross was part of John Greco's religious themed amusement park, Holy Land USA, which closed the year I was born (1984). It wasn't until probably 2003 or 2004, when I started researching abandonments to explore with Zack, that I discovered that this place existed.
It took a couple years to get out there and explore the place, which Zack and I did in 2006, and my mother and I went back in 2011 (pictures coming soon). As of September 2014, I've read that this place is now open to the public again.
